Default Headlight restore kit

So today I was bored and decided I needed to work on the yellowing headlights on my old hoopty Grand Marquis and my 07 F-150. Went to Auto Zone and picked up Meguiars Heavy Duty Headlight Restorer kit $30. Needless to say was the best $30 I’ve spent in a while and 30 minutes of time. Very simple to do and the results speak for themselves. My photo taking sucks but it looks 100% better in person,, I’m sure there are less expensive ways to do this but I’m happy with the outcome.

I used that same kit and wasn't too impressed. Hopefully your's lasts longer. Mine were not very clear and started hazing over in a few weeks. I've heard of guys doing this, then clear coating over it to make it more "permanent." Might try that next time.

The last kit I used was a RainX kit and it was great.

This kit comes with a small bottle of “sealer” that you apply to headlights when finished that is the last step,, says it takes 24hrs. to completely cure so we will see I reckon but so far it worked great.

Curious on how long this holds up. All that polishing would definitely take off the UV protection but if your lights were that faded it has to be done.

Hopefully that sealer lasts, or maybe needs to be reapplied so often?

I've had faded lights on my past (current) cars, and I've always just ended up buying new OEM ones and they last another 5-8 years. On my car a new OEM set runs $1000 though so I may have to do the "polish" method when they get hazy.
