Default Headlight Lens question

I started taking apart my stock headlight housings so I can do a retrofit and after taking one of them apart, I see that the lens looks like it has sparkles throughout it, like glitter. I washed it up pretty good and the sparkle effect is still there. Anyone encounter something like this before, could it be the UV protection? Maybe a buffing and some type of cleaner would take care of it? Am I screwed and need to buy another set of heads? Any suggestions appreciated and thanks in advance.

Take a picture.

Likely, it's the spidering that most of them suffer from eventually. Time to get an ebay set of lenses for your retrofit.

Yep, thats called spiderwebbing. Its in the plastic, no amount of polishing will cure it. I bought a set off ebay and they are worth the price for taking my time and not rushing. Here is the set I bought and they are much better quality than my previous set. The seller is vipmotoz and they are much better built than a pair I bought from ipexmotoring, just an fyi.
