Default Headlight bulb upgrade

Wondering if anyone has any experience with better headlight bulbs. Was going to go HID but for me the cons outweighed the pros. I've read through a bunch of HID and LED threads but think I'll just stick with factory housings and just upgrade my bulb without adding other things. So has anyone found a bulb that actually increases light output? Picture would be great as well. I have kc Apollo pro fogs so am just looking for a brighter spread/spotish pattern out of my headlight.

Philips Crystal Vision Ultra, hands down. Long life, great white light and cheap. I have recommended them numerous times on this forum and have been thanked over and over. I have them in my F150, Expedition, sons Ranger and daughters Grand Prix. My old vehicles, a Superduty, Focus and Excursion had them as well. They will be in every vehicle I own in the future if available.

I ordered a set of 5900k bulbs off ebay and they work amazing for both my headlights and fog lights. Tossed them into my old mans 2012 f150 and my moms 2011 escape and they both like them.

Thanks for the information guys. Any pictures of the difference you saw in light output?

Pretty much this. Had a set in the truck before I did a retrofit. I have a set in the car. A+.

Anything but silverstar ZXEs. They're yellow.
