Manual's useless. If you don't have the Lariat (Message Center) you can't do it, I've been told. I hate lighting up like a Christmas tree at night when I get in or out of the truck, too.

There's got to be a relay somewhere tied to a timer circuit controlling this "feature". I have not bought the "full" schematics yet (requires I buy the Ford shop manuals), but I am close to making this purchase, as the Haynes do not give full schematics. It would be these documents that would provide the possible answers to your questions, unless you can get a Ford mechanic to talk to you.

I'm %100 sure that I've seen thread here, something like "ignition on then unlock 5 times, then igniton off then other 5" looking all over haven';t found that thread yet.

The owners manual will tell you how to disable this feature, and you don't need a message center.

I'd post it but don't have a manual handy.
