From the research I have done related to my problem, you most likely have a broken temperature blend door actuator. It can be replaced fairly easily. Video on how to replace is
You will need 7mm socket to remove radio and a small 8mm wrench to get the three screws out of the actuator. By dropping the glove box, you can sit in passenger seat and reach through hole where radio was with you left arm and reach up through are where glove box was with your right arm and get the two harder to reach bolts pretty easily. Make sure not to connect the new actuator and turn on ignition prior to installing the new actuator.

There are a lot of different actuators. Make sure you are getting the right one. My 2006 uses Motorcraft part YH-1752. There are off brand ones available as well. Good luck.
