Default Hanging wires

2004 f150 4x4 5.4 Hello everybody just put new
timing, guides, pump, pickup tube, main, rod bearings, head gaskets, vct cylinoids, phasers on my truck this last 2 weeks.i have had this truck for about 6months I was under the truck this last weekend and seen a couple of wires loosely hanging on a starter mounting bolt.it looks like a battery ground wire with another smaller wire attached to the big one.anyway I put it back on the starter mounting bolt and tightened it up this time when I got done installing mains and rod bearings
Well my truck would start but dies right away after work was done, and battery acted like it was dead.i went back and took that wire off that starter bolt and truck fired up and ran perfect.anybody know where these wires hookup?
They are black are they grounds?
Grounded to the starter bolt made my truck act really weird with lights and gauges.
Truck starts and run perfect these wires are just hanging now.

Can you follow the cables to see where they go? Also maybe try just hooking up the thick cable again by itself and see how it does. Then you can figure out which cable makes it run bad when hooked up.

Photos would also be helpful too.

From the Starter wiring circuit, I do not see any likely wiring that could be GROUNDED without blowing a fuse.

I have to wonder if it has anything to do with the starter circuit - but in the Factory Wiring Manual, I couldn't spot anything.

Default I would put a voltmeter on those leads to see if any hot

you would think the big one would be a ground .
