Habitually replacing AC temperature actuator
I've owned my 2007 F150 super crew for 1 year now and I've replaced the A/C temperature door actuator three times now. The first time was the click-click-click indicator from within the dash. Replaced the actuator and that fixed it. Now, the past two times, the problem is the door is getting stuck in position where it only lets in HOT air from the heater core and does not close no matter what buttons I push on the dash. Sometimes I'll get lucky and after starting the truck it might allow cool air in for 20 minutes or so, but then it'll spontaneously close to where HOT air is blasting in. I know the rest of the AC system is good as I've checked the coolant pressures, etc.
What is the fix here? Do I have to take off the whole dash to get to where that door is?
The irony here is that I bought this truck because my family requires reliable A/C for family roadtrips and my prior truck had notoriously unreliable A/C. Now I'm back in the same situation.
Any guidance appreciated!
