Default Gryphon tuner

Hey guys....I've been researching the tuners for my 07 and I think I like the gryphon the best. Anyways, my questions are these:

1. How hard are they to install?

2. How do I know what tunes I want(when you get on their order page it asks which you want)?

3. Anyone know the wait time for those?

Anything else, let me know!!!

Thanks!
Brad

1 It is easily installed. Pop the Gryphon into the pod, connect cable to Gryphon, run cable thru dash ( the instructions will show this) and plug other end into OBD port. Takes 5 minutes total.

2 What octane do you want to run?..do you pull anything?? The 3 tunes that come with it are a tranny only shift tune, a tow tune and the perf tune. You can pick 1 or up to all 3 of these slots to overwrite with a custom tune...An example is my tunes..I changed Level 1 ( the tranny only one) to a 87 perf tune..and i put a 87 custom tune in place of the 87 tow tune that was in there ( level 2 spot) the 3rd spot i left as the 93 perf that the gryphon came with...so it boils down to what you want to run for gas..if you don't tow anything or very often, you might want to leave that spot alone and only change the 1st and 3rd boxes.

3 According to their website, i was reading that custom tunes are now down to around a 2 week wait again. In the comments box, make sure you tell them what you want the truck to do...ex...your altitude where you live, if you want instant downshifts, your driving habits...etc. I love my gryphon, also tell them of any mods you've done or will be doing shortly, so Bill can write those into the tune....Enjoy.

Wow super response!!! Thank you very much!

I personally don't run 91/93 octane in my truck often...so I prob wouldn't want that tune. However, I'd like one for something like better gas mileage, one for 87 perf, and one for towing. Does that sound reasonable? What one is for better gas mileage?

What do you mean by "instant downshifts"? Is that like my dads f250 when in tow/haul it shifts down(and you can feel it?)?? Also my driving style....I drive mostly interstate, with some county roads and some city driving. what else should i add?

Thanks again!

unless you know someone with a tuner to pull your stratagy or hex code you can order the standard gyrphon then once it comes you can pull your code and send it to PHP then they will email you your new tunes.

myself i went with all 87 oct. tunes. if your not looking for a performance tune then a tow and mileage tune will work fine. it is all up to you and your driving style and needs and any aftermarket exhaust or air intake that the gryphon will benifit the most from. i did the stock edge and then later went to custom tunes.. I didnt notice a huge improvment but there was a improvment. as for mileage tunes you can see 1-2 mpg increase on long didtance drives. not so much on normal around town comutes.

hey guys, sorry to bring up a dead thread but im looking into getting a grypon too.

how hard is it to tell the guy what uyou want? You are talking about altitudes and habits and terrain but how do I explain that properly? and they ask for specific info like compression ratios and whatnot, I have no clue where to find all that out.

any suggestions?

Just call and tell bill where you live so he can get ur altitude then basically what you do on a normal day driving wise...if you like to get on it a lot then you'll want a "go fast" tune and if you tow a lot you'll want a tow tune...its really easier if you just call and talk to bill or corey
