will a gryphon programmer bought for an 08 5.4L work on a 08 4.6L with a new tune? a friend traded his truck in and took this out before he got rid of it

 

Can't see why not..my Gryphon was bought for my 05 and i now run it on my 08. i needed different tunes and be sure to give PHP the new Hex code.

When you first plug the Gryphon into your OBD port, a Hex code will appear. Its a 7 diget letter/number combo..An example is RXCM444.HEX. They will need this code to write any custom tunes that you want. Did your friend return his truck to stock before trading it? You can check out www.powerhungryperformance.com for help.

 

yes he did return it to stock so no issues on unlocking it. I emailed the guys over at power hungry performace but havent heard back so i figured someone on here might know.

 

Did your friend have custom tunes on it? If not you should be able to use it right away.
