Default Great Subwoofer

For anyone remembering the Saleen Subwoofer, that is pretty hard to find now. There is the actual Rockford Fosgate version listed on E-bay # 200434860491 (the ones who actually manufacture it for Saleen). I just received mine and installed it. It is AWSOME. Just like the Saleen version, it is plug and play. The best part is is only $149! Thought I would pass it along for those interested in a reasonable priced Sub. Of course you'll have to sacrifice not having the cool Saleen badging on it.

Does it replace the audiophile woofer using the same harness?

No, it supplied with a new harness that plugs into the back of your stock HU with a T plug. You can add it to an audiophile setup though, because it plugs into the main harness in the back of your radio, not where the audiophile plugs into. I had and audiophile in my 05, and this one is much more responsive and deeper. It will not blast the neighbors, which I did not want to do anyway, but it really make the radio sound great, especially when my I-pod is running. I believe it will work with and aftermarket HU also, as long as the stock harness was not hacked up.

It won't work with the audiophile then, there are no lows going to the door speakers.

Damn, I would have snatched that up. Someone is gonna get lucky on that one.

You know I never really noticed on the stock door speakers on my 05 if they had any bass at all, maybe not. You could always pick up a non audiophile stock HU pretty cheap, and have the best of both worlds. I'm sure the rest of the stock setup with the separate tweeters in the front doors will work just fine with another radio. I think the crossovers on the speakers do all the work on the high and mid ranges. I have the 6 disk changer with MP3 and the accessory input, but it does not have the extra plug for the sub.

I was just thinking, there should be lows going to the speakers still. The sub supplies extra low frequencies, you should still have the normal low frequencies present. I'll have to visit a friend of mine who has the audiophile and listen close. Now you got my curiosity going, ha ha

Haven't tried pulling the sub harness personally, but read on the forums that there is an audible lacking of lows with the sub disconnected.
