found a old posting in engine talk coolcontractor started post he has 07 lariat w/5.4 with approx. same mileage as mine and just about same age seems from what I understand and I hope it's not the case with mine ford cut some corners with some kind of internal engine part they replaced one guys engine and replaced or should I say rebuilt 1/2 of another guys engine I made appointment with the dealer for this week I'm going on a trip soon and I just want to make sure I will make it

 

well dropped truck off at dealership yesterday to see if ping could be fixed to my surprise they couldn't find or here the problem what a shocker. they also said the computer showed no error codes but they did reset computer,they said sometimes this will fix I did mention to them the couple things I've read on this forum and they did admit to having 2 trucks come in this year with same problem one truck they thought the cam phaser was bad they replaced but that didn't resolve the problem next truck they left alone until ford comes out with a better fix.
