Default Got another part question

While fixing a vacuum leak I came across a part that was indirectly connected to the problematic area and was wondering what it is/does. Anyone have any insight? My guess - some sort of vacuum regulation/monitoring (it's hooked up to a vacuum line and electrical connection, so seemed likely).

Lol, funny thing is the steering shaft had been changed about 2-3 years ago. Her name is Rustzilla. Everything steel under the hood is rusted out. Power steering pump, steering shaft, torque converter (cover), brake booster vacuum line (in that pic).

I did some research and I think the part in question only comes with the fuel line assembly. I wasn't able to find it on its own, or what it actually does.
