Default Good Read on LEDs in 2008 Stock Headlight Assy

I've purchased new headlight assemblies and Sylvania bulbs for them. They're an improvement, but not significant. I'm looking at LEDs now. Cheap, expensive, cree, philips, cutoff shield, fans, heat sinks...ughhh. TMI. Is there a consensus on what works best in stock assemblies without glare or blinding oncoming traffic, but is still a decent improvement over stock? I've read a lot of threads on here, and still don't get a good warm and fuzzy on the subject.

A cut of shield is a must. Besides that, check reviews and go by that. Fans cool best, but they can fail over time.

I have the fan style from 4x4truckleds. I’m going on year 3 without any issues. I run Sylvania zevo leds in everything else.

I've looked at a few, and most don't have the cutoff. Of those that do, some mention an adjustment by loosening an allen screw. What is the adjustment? Is it to orient the position of the cutoff? Did the 4x4s need adjustment or were they truly plug-n-play? Did you experience any FM radio static...flicker?

They were plug n play. I’ve not had any issues. The adjustment screw let’s the leds rotate 360°. They should come set in the right position, but sometimes they may arrive upside down and need to be adjusted. It’s all very simple.

On the 04-08s, is the Bambi mod required if you're running LED headlights and LED fog lights?

yeah, with most of them. It fully fixes the issue though.

I have the G11 LEDs from 4x4truckleds. They are significantly brighter than the stock halogen bulbs. After I installed them I realized that the headlights were aimed way too low. Once I got the low beams adjusted where I wanted them I can see much farther down the road than I could with the original bulbs. My only complaint is that they make electrical noise and the radio reception is much worse with them on. I tried adding ferrite beads on the wires in and out of the control boxes and it didn't seem to help.

I've had beamtechs in mine for about a year. Awesome all the way around. Just need a canbus (didn't do bambi mod)

Does the canbus alleviate the need for the bambi mod? Is the canbus required regardless? Where do you get a canbus?
Edit: I see canbus adapters are available on Amazon. Also see in reviews that some F150 owners (04 and 07) mentioned canbus adapter is attached, and that they were plug-n-play. Guess I'll plug in and find out.

I bought the canbus to eliminate flicker and the brights issue.
