Yeah, it's under warranty and I should take it in and let Ford pay out the repair cost to the stealer. If I can't find the panel, that's what I'm doing!! HELP!

Thanks guys..
Call the dealer! When I bought mine I didn't have a manual so I called dealer and they printed me out location as well as a schematic of the fuse panel so I knew what fuses were what.I now have a manual, but lets face it, your better off buying a chiltons or haynes manual for YOUR truck!!!

It is in the kick panel, with now blown fuse. It gos to the shop!! A pitiful place to put a fuse panel, a bit difficult to access and SEE! Manual shows no detail of trailer wireing or harness, let alone layout or the hot lead..

Just put a fuse in it and see if it holds. Could've been anything and you may not have a problem. If it blows again then take it in. You may be wasting you time at the dealer for nothing. Save your self the hassle of taking it in, unless blows the new one.

There were no blown fuses to begin with, so she goes in.. Besides, at times, I get excessive cranking before it turns over and hard starting. I'm wondering if this is a totally electronic controlled engine and all sensors have to be lined up before it fires. It still shouldn't have to take that long to start the engine. To me, excessive cranking is the 12 times the engine turns over before she starts. I've even had to let the starter spin till the engine fires and stay on the key!!! If this is characteristic of Ford, I'm thinking I'm done with this truck at 6800 mi and move on, never look back. Got my eye on that new Tundra!! My wife is done with Domestic and I will stick with my Diesels!!!

Sorry to hear your problems. As far as your fuse issue, trailer harness is probably grounding somewhere, from a chaifed wire, seen that on fords, chevys, dodges and toyotas. As far as your starting issues, definatly take it in, you shouldn't be having problems firing the truck up. I have an '05 and trailer lights are just fine and starts like a champ everytime. Your's is just one of those rare flukes that gets through every now and again. That happens with any make of vehicle.

Oh sorry, I thought you were trying to say you had a blown fuse.

Well, come to find out, Ford rewired the system to where the Positive hot only works when keyed on! I believe Whitecrystal originally mentioned that!! How stupid is that??? No more convenience, if you want power inside a trailer for lighting, you must now first take time to go unlock your truck, insert key in ignition, turn key on, walk back into your trailer to light it up. Exit said trailer, walk around to truck, turn key off and remove key from ignition and lock truck! I don't f*%#@*% think so!!! I ran a hot wire from battery to the Positive pin so I now have power!! Like it's supposed to be...

Hey FORD, listen up, your better idea SUCKS!!! Wire it like it's supposed to be and the way everyone else dose and it's back to business as usual!!!

All my other trucks are OEM wired in this fashion!!!

Hard start issue:

Tech's are clueless, as usual and expected!! Doesn't know why and can't tell me if this engine is fly-by-wire,(total electronic controlled) Good ol American no no how!!!

Anybody know?? Total electronic control?? All sensors aligned before starting?? I'm thinking maybe so.

Tech's partial answer, (well, sometimes injectors get stuck on these things) Did he bother to check for bad injectors?? Leak down?? stuck?? I don't think so. This stealership is about worthless too, so that plays a part with the whole story, they are named Crown Motors but for decades the nick name is well known in town as Clown Motors!

End result, was without truck for the entire day and NOTHING was accomplished!!

End of rant..
