Default Getting key made/keyfob

Do these trucks have any chips in the keys? I only have 1 key for my newly purchased 04 150.

Also where is a good place to purchase another key fob, my keypads look a little worn out.

Yes, they have a chip in the key, best bet is your local ford dealership, they will need your truck for about an hour to program the new key (if you had two or more you could add another yourself. Keys are usually around 35 dollars, programming is up to your service dept, probably around 55 bucks or so...also, some locksmiths can do this for you as well. Separate key fobs are about 70 at the dealer.

Pick up a key/fob at the dealer and have your local locksmith program it. Way cheaper than sourcing both from the Ford stealership. Don't wait because if you lose your one key then it will be time to break out the checkbook.

If it is just a key with a chip in it, and not a remote with batteries, go to WAL MART. They make copies for $75 (and you only need one source key, and yes it works on the engine, not just the doors). Unfortunately, most of the Wal Marts around here don't train their people well on the key copier machine, so three of them told me it wasn't possible, but it certainly is possible. Call ahead and make sure a competent key maker is working, or ask when they will be working. You don't have to order it, it only takes five minutes to make, and is probably half what the dealer charges.
