Default Gears?

Hey guys, i have searched the posts and couldn't find anything close to my little issue here. I always assumed i had 3:55 gears in my rear end bc the door code says H9 witch means the 3:55's. i just bought a Diablo predator tuner and when i brought up my gear ratio it was at 3:73s so i thought huh, i left it and finished my tune, the truck ran great.....lots and lots of torque, than i thought better switch to 3:55 sense that's what my door says, after that tune, not even close to as much torque i had with the 3:73 setting. what is going on here? any ideas? other than maybe the truck has 3:73's and the door code is wrong?

oh ya, its a 2WD truck.

most tuners come with generic tunes so that could be it or your truck had a tow package upgrade after the factory

Most programmers use "placeholder" values when changing from the stock tune. It puts a value there (ie 3.73) instead of being blank and then looks at the stock tune to find the ratio when it does the tuning.

Yeah someone was on here a few days ago with the same issue. I have 3.73 gears so when I first got my Evo I didn't think twice about it. It's like otto said.
