How do I find out what gears are in the rear?

Look at your axle code on the door jam or look up your VIN.

Think I found the answer.

On the door jamb the axel code is F9. After doing a search it's says F9 are 4.11 gears.

F9 is not an axle code for F150's. It has to be one of these:
F-150:
19 – 3.55 Non-LS
18 – 3.08 Non-LS
H9 – 3.55 LS
B6 – 3.73 LS

Yes. I have no idea why I said F9. I even had it written down but when I did a search for some reason I typed in F9.
