Default Gear whine?

I just wrapped up my gear change. Went from 3.73 stock to 4.56. Nice low end power now and not much downshifting while cruising.

I have taken it easy so far (100 miles) but I did notice a little bit of whine/humming/howling whatever you wanna call it.

it this normal? Are my clearances off? It is set at 9 thousands right now.

gears are made by motive by the way.

The pinion preload setting likely is not at specs. If the noise is continous, there likely is a bad bearing.

it’s not terrible. And is only around 50-60mph and it is very light. It’s hard to tell if it’s that or tire noise.

When I let off the gas and start to develop a little you can hear it as well.
