I just noticed something that I think is odd about my gas cap. There is zero resistance when I spin the cap counterclockwise to remove it. It will pull out with sometimes as little as a 1/16 of a turn. When closing the cap, it tightens and makes the ratcheting sound. Is this normal, or do you think the cap has gone bad? Thanks

 

As long as you are not getting an EVAP code, your cap is fine.
