Default Gap Guards

Hey not sure if other people have problems with everything spraying up from the bottom of the truck going all over the engine.

I was thinking about making a longer set of gap guards to cut down on the spray. Not sure if this would hurt anything, as with moving parts or anything.

Also not sure what to use for material, well if anyone has any ideas or has done this before please help me out, pics are great too thanks

Gap guards? In the wheel well? I don't get it. Here's a pic of the underside of an FX4. I think the skid plate would stop alot of the spray.

I think most of the water and mud coming into the engine compartment is coming up from the tires through the wheel wells. My mechanic says he has seen it alot on F150's not sure. just seems I get a lot of mud and water up on the top of the engine. I was thinking if I extended the fender skirt farther down until it reached the frame it might help. Not sure if I am just pissing in the wind or not.
