Default Gaining Access

I need to gain access to the lower portion of the dash on my '08 F-150.

The small message screen is not lighting up as it should. A few weeks ago I did hit a bump and it lighted for a few minutes.

If I could gain access, maybe I could find a loose wire or something.

How do you gain access from the bottom? What type of fasteners are used? Any hints??

Thanks,

You need to remove the cluster and replace the bulb. The information display uses a slightly larger bulb then the other cluster bulbs, due to it being brighter when the lights are off (daylight) to light the display brighter.

Use the search and search on "cluster" and one of my many posts on how to remove the cluster.

The bulb is purchased at your local Ford parts department.

I can read the display, but it WAS not backlit. For some reason yesterday, the backlight started working.

If it goes out again, I will search for CLUSTER, and see what I can do.

Thanks....
