Hi guys, I am wondering if there is supposed to be a light in the console where the shifter moves, indicating which gear you are in. I think there should be, but I am not sure how to lift the chrome trim to check, without breaking something.
The truck is a 2006 FX4 crew.

Just did this yesterday. Open the console. there is the little opening the size of your finger where the console lid lockswhen closed. I used 2 butter knifes to pop the grey part of the console up. It pops up and the chrome piece stays behind. Once the grey part of the console is out of the way take a butter knife and you will see 2 tabs on each side of the chrome piece. Pop these off and push it over a bit. There is a greenish strip. Follow that to the back of the strip and you will see where the bulb is. Its a 194 bulb. If you want to change the color or anything just search Console Bulb. Guys have put LEDs in it and you should be able to find all sorts of stuff with that search.
