Default Fuel Pump???

I have a 2005 XLT 5.4L that cranks but wont start. The fuel pump is not priming when I turn the key on. I reset the inertia switch and the fuse is good. I replaced the FPDM and the pump still won't prime. So my fear is the pump itself is shot. Which is hard to believe because the truck only has 46,000 on it!! Is there any other reason the pump wouldn't prime? Any input is greatly appreciated

Not really, other than maybe a short somewhere. Test for voltage at the pump.
