Default fuel injector question??

Ok I have an 08 f150 5.4 Screw and I have an injector sticking. My injectors have a yellow color code on them and I can get a set of 8 for free. Only problem is the new ones have a green color code on them. I need to kno whether the color code is for a poundage rating or if it is for flew fuel. If they are just for flex fuel I should be able to use them without a problem. If anyone knows if I can run them that would be great because I don want to spend 350 bucks a new set from ford.

If you have the time might worth having the original ones cleaned and flow matched. Probably cost around $100 or so.

If yellow is the color for flew fuel then why does my gas cap say "Gasoline and E10 only, no E85"? And i dont have the money to get them cleaned like you suggested. I was talking to a ford tech and i explained to him what my truck has been doing, its been blowing white smoke on initial start up, and chugging until it clears the cylinder out. He said that it sounds like i have an injector leaking down when the truck sits over a long period of time.

Last time I checked white smoke was moisture, water, or antifreeze. How does that have anything to do with a fuel injector?

I believe he meant the injector was sticking wide open spraying fuel, correct?

I would try to find a part # off of them and see if they match. Or you can give me your 67 mustang coupe listed in your sig and ill buy you a whole new set of injectors.

Not sure about gassers, but in diesels if you got white smoke you could very well have an injector problem

Those injectors are going to have diamond tips with a sold gold case lol.
The ford mechanic I was talking to said he has seen it a couple times where an injector could stick open slightly when in the closed positions, and drip fuel into the intake runner when the truck sits. I got a set of of injectors for free im just wondering if they will work because of the.different color code, even though the new set is for a ford 3v 5.4
