The retainer clip, pretty much fell apart. I used the ones supplied that came with the new filter, but it does not seats all the way as the other one.
has anyone e Used these?
Those clips hold the fuel line to the filter and are required to prevent separation. In your photo it appears that the filter's nipple is not fully engaged into the hose fitting, it needs to be seated further in, push it together and if it won't go then pull apart and apply a small amount of oil to the o-rings and reinsert.
That filter you have is made for the metal lines and is a bit longer on the connector ends
But
The plastic lines will work with the filter you got
They will just not go on the filter as far
Look at the difference between a Motorcraft FG800 = the one you need, and a FG 872 which fits a newer truck = you have and will still work

about the retainer clip (white) good?
or I need the ones that seat in fully?
Well, those China white ones do work but are a pain to get seated
Yes, with your black plastic hose end, you use the white clip (5/16)
However, i need a better picture to be sure of the clip
Some of those square connectors use a duckbill clip
Take that white clip out and post a pic of the end without the clip
The clip you have is made to go all the way through the connector and have the 2 tabs stick out the other side
The duckbill style goes inside the connector and does not poke out
