if you do it carefully and take your time you dont need to get covered in gas i just did mine it was not as bad as everyone i spoke to said it was going to be but then again i have been noticing that a lot lately

The clip with the plastic end has a tiny tab on it. Use an eye glass screw driver to lift this tab up. Once that tab is up, the line will disconnect with no problem. It's an easy job to do, hell, if you're thin enough you don't even need to jack the truck up.
