i run only oem parts, know if fits and will last just as long as the last one did, well usually anyway. i understand that people can't always afford oem parts, but IMO that is the only parts that go back on, unless i am in a bind and have no choice.
I would agree that OEM parts are the guarentee for fit and workability. I have however used Fram gas filters with good results. I don't recommend their oil filter though (Fram).
Be careful in removing the fuel lines from the filter; a specal tool (or plastic slip rings) are needed to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. With these tools, it's a piece of cake; without, you can break the locking tab which can allow the fuel line(s) to pull away from the filter.
