Default Fuel Filter

My son has a 06 5.4 with fuel filter on frame rail. When changing it is there anything special you have to do or can you just swap it out?

Here's a link to another forum where someone did a write up, I've done it twice on my 2006, not too hard. Just remember to depressurize, and even still there will be some gas in the lines, so have a drain pan/rags ready, and make sure there's no fire around.
I always depressurize the system by pulling the fuel pump fuse.

Thanks! This was a great link to use in changing the fuel filter. I did manhandle the blue clip and broke one side of it. It still works and I didn't have to replace it. I found the grey piece at Autzone. It came in a set of 6 or so for $10. Never would have known to get this piece without the instructions you gave. Much appreciated!

I believe the new fuel filter fixed a rough idle. I had a check engine light on that was reading as a misfire.

Yeah no problem, I try to change mine about every 20,000 miles, just to keep it running as best as possible, it isn't that hard nor expensive.

I'm going to have to do this once it gets a little warmer out! I have no idea when it was last replaced!
