Default Frozen Lower CA Bolts

Had to cut all bolts out and cut tie rod out as well as the lower ball joint bolt. Time for a beer

after a whole day of cutting, mind you it’s 14 def here in snowy Minnesota and I have no heater, I finally got one side out. Salt on roads plays hell on bolts. Here’s a few after pics

Used a 3/4 drive impact and heat. No luck. No choice but cut them

Day two. Driver side done. Burned through 5 blades on the saw getting the passenger side out. Now have to wait for some help to get the dust cover in the lower ball joint before re assembly.

A cut off wheel to cut a slot in the nut and a chisel might have been faster and cheaper. If you had one. Just saying, sometimes we stick with the first method chosen when others are available. 5 blades is a lot of blades.

The nuts on the bolts would come off, except the nut in lower ball joint. The bolts themselves were siezed inside the arms. The new bolts have grease fittings in them so hopefully that will never be an issue again. Should have it buttoned up tomorrow then off to an alignment on Saturday. All of this mess just to get a little more caster......lol

Sharp looking truck!, the Minnesota tag explains the seized bolts.
