So hoping someone can help me out here. 08 f-150 2wd. I really don’t know anything about suspension but trying to learn.
Imcurrently waiting on rims and tires to come in but in the meantime my “tire noise” is getting really bad to the point that I don’t think it’s just the worn all terrain tires.
Pulsating vibration when I start getting past 40-50 mph and gets worse with speed. Also pulls hard to this side even after recently doing alignment (upper control arms replaced) Highway driving only since the alignment.
Got under today and this is what I’m seeing but I’m clueless down here. Am I seeing worn ball bearings and some sort of broken bushing near control arm?? Would really appreciate any input here.
Mechanic doesn’t want to get into it until after tires are replaced but it’s going to be two weeks before new rims come in and I have a good amount of driving in a week
Quite a lot of experience in suspension on f150 trucks here, your lower shock mounts look fine but can't really tell from that angle. Your lower ball joints look a good bit worn. Chances are the sounds/vibrations would be from lowers or your tie rods. I would check both. if you have a bit of mechanical knowledge how they are both extremely easy to replace yourself. Tie rods just go on in off with some wrenches and the lowers you just need a ball joint press kit which is also really cheap. What's the mileage on the truck? Is the vibration a bounce or a shake in the wheel?

Hard to say anything from your photos but the pulsation and vibration could be just the tires.
pulling to one side while braking could be a suspension component worn, or could be a braking issue, like one side sticking slider pins or one side with air in the brake line...
