Default Front Srping Mark

I have a ? My wife had a Leveling kit put on my 07 Lariat SC 4x4 buy 4Wheel Parts while I was gone as a surprise. I noticed the other day that on both springs at the same spot there is a flat mark. They look like the upper control arms came in contact with the spring. What gives?? I have had the kit on for about 5K miles. The truck tracts strait and drives great. Has anybody had this problem? The paperwork I got from 4Wheel Parts says a 3in kit, but said it was really 2in. Also The front sets about 1/4in higher than the back. Can it be a 2in and do that?? I have not wheeled this truck at all. Any help would be great. Thanks SSG C

I think this is a common problem, AutoSpring has an offset design to correct this.

Sounds to me like they put a 3in kit on...or it would sit near level. don't know why your control arms would hit.

They could have been referring to the actual size of the spacer, which is smaller than it actually lifts the truck.

Im gonna go to 4wheel parts on sat and have them look at it. I dont want to be driving around and causing damage. From what I can tell it dosn't look like its getting worse. This truck has to last me at least 10 more years. Anybody know where I can get a 1in block for the rear. I think that would give me the slight rake so when I have the ATV and Dual Sport in the back it wont have the droop. Thanks

yeah its a common problem. the autospring spacer is offset and it helps but i think sometimes it still has this problem. the worn down spot is from the arm hitting the coil at full droop. from what i've seen and heard it's nothing to worry about.

I had a three inch level on mine and it ruined both of my upper ball joints, both of my lower ball joints, and one wheel hub. Drove it for about seven thousand miles. I changed it out to race runner coilovers for the lift and total chaos upper control arms to fix the upper ball joints. The control arms convert the ball joint to a uniball design, works much better. The ride is F**King incredible. I do not recommend a three inch level! It ruined my front suspension.
