Default Front Pumpkin leaking

I have a 2004 5.4 and the front pumpkin is leaking fluid from bottom. How hard is it to drain and change the gasket seal and refill with fluid?
thanks

the longest/hardest part is waiting for the rtv sealant to cure for an hour before filling it back up.

its super easy

Not hard at all just put adrain pan under it and remove the bolts holding the cover pry it loose with a screw driver clea off all traces of sealer/gasket run a bead of RTV sealer reinstall the cover[ do not over tighten bolts and refill with gear oil. I reccomend a good quality synthetic oil. Oh and while the cover is off is a good time to check gears and make sure the cover flange is smooth and straight. Bubbabud

Is there not a rubber gasket on these? I see on Autozone that they sell a rubber gasket for these?

+1, you can buy diff cover gaskets but no one runs them. rtv is the best way to go
