How you get the front plate bracket off?

I noticed the top half just clips on. But the bottom half runs up between the bottom valance and bumper.

Gotta remove the valance?

I am not required to have a front plate so when i took mine off I had no intentions of putting it on. I just yanked it out and broke off the little clips. I really dont remember what they looked like or how they attached though

 

pull up on top clip to unhook, pull straight out on bottom and it will come out.
