front end noises
Ok, I have a 2006 f150 4x4. I have been getting a squeaking noise coming from the front end. It is squeaking when driving or coasting, but stops while braking. I have checked out the brakes and they seem to be in great shape. When i have the tire off, and spin the hub, should the shaft spin with it while in 2wd? Anyone think this may be an IWE problem? My warranty is out so i really dont want to take it into the dealer to get worked on.
Thanks
Thanks

From what you describe it sounds like a brake pad may be slightly dragging. Probably not something to worry about, but you may just want to make sure the you periodically check to be sure that the pads and slider pins are cleaned and lubed.
One of the tech where I worked suggested that was the biggest maintenance concern for the brakes; especially for anyone living in a "rust prone" area like the northeastern states.

mine does the same thing, Its not the pad pins. I have tried everything to fix it, I have added grease fittings to all the ball joints and the tie rod ends with still not fixing the SQUEAKING problem. I have read many posts about this with out any clear solution. Good luck.. I will try anything at this point.
