is there a diffrence in the front axle out of a 2004 f-150 4x4 truck with a 5.4 and a 2005 f-150 truck with a 4.6 ?

I found a parts truck and can get parts cheap ? some one who knows speak up please!!! , truck is a 4x4 , 4.6 long bed out of Orange county , NY and was hit HARD (T-boned) right hand passanger side

 

Not 100% on this BUT I believe the 4.6 came with an 8.8" axle and the 5.4s come with 9.75s.

So I wouldn't think you could.

 

the 9.75 is only in the rear.... the 5.4 comes with the 8.8 up front as well.

im pretty sure the difference for the 4.6 and 5.4 was only in the rear.... 4.6 came with 8.8 front and rear, whereas 5.4 came with 8.8 up front, 9.75 out back.

 

good he only wants $75 for whole thing so I'm going to grab it.
