Default Front acuator question

Can someone please enlighten me. The 4WD recently stopped working, the transfer case was going in but the shaft to the front wheel (passenger) was not engaging fully, there was a loud clicking noise coming from it. Here's my question"s, does the coller (don't know the actual name) that slides on ove the hub from the actuator (that put's power to the front wheel) only move on the top? and is that supposed to be packed with grease or left dry?. It seems to be moving freely but moves very little on the bottom. Also since I put it back together the side axle on that side is not disengaging, the other side is. Can someone please help me???

You mean Half shaft ? not side axle. You got a broken IWE hub Actuator , and its the one that doesn't. free wheeling . Also check vacuum leaks .you also said loud clicking noise , your IWE solenoid is busted .. .its easy fix Go to SEARCH ,,,,,,, IWE . how to. also needs a little grease .in the Hub area you mention . Good luck
