Default Fraser Motors....

I just wanted to share my experience with this motor and would love to hear anyone elses. I bought my 2004 F150 4x4 brand new in Dec of 2003. I have not put a lot of miles on it being I work from home and had another car at times. The engine gave me fits through out the years and in 2020 I decided to stick a new motor in it at just 104k miles. I went with Fraser. I had to replace that motor this summer after another 10k miles. No charge for the motor but they only paid $50 for the labor and my chosen mechanic was $120 hour. There were a few other things that needed replacing (motor brackets were cracked). It was about another $2 grand. I would like to hook up this truck for camping and update the inside and out with LEDs and other stuff. But I am worried this motor will fail as well. Has anyone else had experience with Fraser before? Maybe I just was unlucky with this one. BTW, it was the cam phaser that failed. I thought these issue would of been fixed with the new motor.

Rainmay Ray pulled apart a Fraser motor just so that Fraser might warranty it in the below video. You are exactly right about the warranty that I try to tell people. People say, "but look at Fraser's awesome 5 yr unlimited warranty!" Then, when something goes really bad and even Fraser warranties it, they only pay 1/3rd of the normal mechanic hourly rate.

Just curious, why did your replace your original engine? Was it for a specific breakage?

I wish I could be more specific with you but it was almost 4 years ago. I just kept spending money on it. First it was about 3k for the whole spark plug coil thing, Then some of the pistons were sticking so that was another $700. Then a few months later it wasn't running at all. When research the remanufactured motors they advertise like they have fixed the originals promblems that the F150 motor had those years.

I started watching a little of that video and that doesn't make me feel good about putting more money into this truck.

This sounds like you may need to look for a new mechanic/shop too.
