Hello, I am working with a 2007 frame section between the cab mounts. The instructions are clear and all welding has been done, all is good. My question relates to the difference in frames from 2007 to 2009. The 2009 instructions call for a reinforcement bracket added to the top of the 360 degree weld area, the 2007 does not.


Is this a design change that could be used in the 2007 repair or only applies to the 2009 weld zone ? It would make sense to add the bracket for strength since the half being sectioned to has been reheated in the same area once again from the grinding and then the reweld.


Does the change in the frame construction between these years call for this additional piece and would it be retroactive to this type of repair for the year 2007 ?been faced with this and how would you proceed ?


Has anyone experienced this and what did you do ?
