Default Fpdm-omg

I got my Dorman replacement FPDM. Change/check yours if you haven't already.
My 2008 w/ 23k was powdery on the outside when I checked it last Friday and
ordered the Dorman part. Took the old module off and I believe there was a salt buildup between the frame crossmember and the module.
The part was coated with it.
The FPDM was not corroded to the point that it cracked, but how long would it take?
Carwash underbody flushes won't get to flush the part off because of it's location above the spare tire.

My 05 has 75k and I just changed it with the dorman also. Mine wasn't bad, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, and for $55 it was money well spent. Mine wasnt cracked just corroded, but I thought it would be worse. Actually I kinda wish it was worse lol

But yes, everyone should check theirs before winter so your not sitting on the side of the road stranded

Just common sense
$55 + $5 shipping for mine.
What would it cost to get a truck towed and taken to the shop for a 15 minute job? A monkey and a bunch of banana's could change that part.

With the way winters are going around here you shouldn't have to worry about salt build-up. Debating on whether or not to even take my sled out of storage.

Salt doesn't help but the real problem is two dissimilar metals touching. There will be corrosion regardless of climate.
