Default Ford emblem question

My 2008 lariat just got a new chrome and tan king ranch grille. My old emblem is stuck to the old grille. If I pry it off it's gonna break. I'm looking at getting the new style emblems that are 2 piece so they can be painted. My question is do they use adhesive backing to mount? Or 2 mount nuts? Also is the grille emblem the same as the tail gate emblem? So if I order 1 I can just order 2 of the same and replace grille and tailgate emblems?

My originals emblem on the grill was held on with nuts, maybe also adhesive I can't remember, but there were nuts. After removing the nuts it came off easy. The tailgate one, is adhesive and I used so fishing line to "saw" the adhesive off. And yes front and rear are same size. My new ones are the 3D style I think they call it. And both only just adhesive, no nuts in the front

My grille emblem was replaced at sometime and doesn't have nuts on it. As for the tailgate it has the same alignment holes as the grille? So in other words they are the same exact emblem? Meaning could swap them around if wanted and it would work?

I believe so. I bought two of the same emblems and used one in front, one in the back. Now they were the 3D style if it matters

Okay, that's pretty much what needed to know. Going to get 2 of the 3D style and paint the blue part, white.

The 3D ones do. They are 2 piece if you really look at them

The new style 3D ones are held on my self threading nuts. No double sided tape as the back is open.

I believe my original emblem had double sided tape and nuts. I took it off when I replaced it with the 3D style so I wasn't worried about damaging it.

That would be good. I would prefer the nuts over the tape.

I bought these ones, and they had the tape, they must be mislabeled and not the actual 3D ones sorry
