Hey all, this forum is pretty great and the Final Repair Guide to 5.4 has helped me tremendously. It enabled me to tear into my 2004 F150 and go looking for the “tick” it was making. Since it was constant at all temperatures and RPMs, I suspected it was a lash adjuster or follower. Sure enough, after tearing it down I found one of the followers on the driver’s came off the valve. My question is, since the follower came off the valve and has been that way for a while now, is there other problems deeper in the engine I should be concerned about? The cam is goobered up pretty good so I'll be replacing it. I would appreciate any feedback, thanks!
