Fog Lights as DRL
Hi Guys,
I am new here and have searched for the answer to my question but can't find it. I have a 2006 F150 crew cab that has the auto lights. The headlight switch has the pull out switch for the fog lights. I am trying to wire my fogs lights as daytime driving lights. I just want the fog lights to be on when the switch is on. I have taken the headlight switch out and found the wire that sends power to the foglights from the fog light awitch but can't find which wire feeds the fog light switch. If anyone can help me I would sure appreciate it. If I could find a wiring diagram of the headlight switch that would be a great help. Thank you for any help.

Looked at the "Bambi Mod" but don't think this is what I need. I just want the Fog lights on as DRL. I want to be able to turn the fogs off with my factory switch which is part of the headlight switch. I would appreciate it if someone that has done this or knows how to do this on a 2006 F150 could help me out. Thanks guys.

Do you have a Canadian model F-150? As all Canadian spec vehicles have DRL as standard equipment. You can wire into foglights into the DRL relay. As far as the relay is concerned, I don't know exactly where it is. I drive with my fog lights on at all times and my headlights at full intensity at all times, for safety measures.

Do you want the parking lights on too? Cus you can only pull out on the fog switch if its in auto, park, or headlamp. If you dont and still want control over the fogs then you will have to add a switch to your dash and a relay. The relay will bypass the headlight switch to let the fogs run, the switch will control the relay and when you hook into the ignition sw it will have the lights come on only when the truck is on and will turn them off when you turn the trunk off.
I have not done this to my truck but I dont see any reason this would not work for ya.

You could look into this. Use a relay and wire it so it's not energized when the lights are on.

05jakev,
I do not want to add a switch. The parking lights on will be okay. Do you have another diagram that you can send me? When I enlarge the one that I have , it is to blurry to read. If not can you tell me how to wire without adding a switch? Thank you.

Ok no extra switch. Let me do some testing tomorrow and see what I come up with. I did fig out how to make just the fogs come on when ever the truck is on but still working on controlling them with the stock switch.
