Default Fluids

Would it be wise to perform a complete change of all fluids on my truck it's just over 38000 miles. I have had it since June of last year with only one issue the brake light leaking. It's an 08 Screw 4x4 with a build date of 02 of 2008 according to Vin search. I may have the updated heads need to check the engine build date. Oil was changed twice since I bought it.

I would if it was my truck, 6 years is a long time even with so little mileage.

Hi.

Agree.

Used vehicle - unknown maintenance history - good way to ensure that, from this point forward the history will be known.

BTW - if you have a Traction-Lok ( LS) rear diff, you need to change the fluid if it's not been done for over 30K or 3 years. The friction modifier used ( MC XL-3) is hydrophyllic - absorbs water. Left unattended for longer periods and you risk corrosion in the pumpkin.

This includes several more items in addition to fluids as well.

OP - btw, another way to check which heads you have: If you are fortunate to have a mid - late 08 then chances are you have COP number 8L3E and one-piece 12mm plugs. Dust off the tops of the COPs and check.

good luck
