Default fluid needs

Sorry to ask such a routine question, but I cant find it anywhere in my manual
How many quarts do I need for a auto transmission fluid change, and is the gasket reusable?
Thinking of going ahead and changing the filter while Im at it.

I can't remember the amount of fluid but like fordfreak11 said, get a filter and gasket for sure! Its cheap and easy. I am a firm believer in transmission filter and fluid changes more often, as appose to flushes. I don't like the idea of flushing stuff backwards. Id rather be on track and take care of the fluid before it becomes a problem in the tranny

Like before/above, about 5 quarts (MERCON V) for a pan-drop partial change. The new filter will have a seal/o-ring on it. The pan gasket is re-usable (intended that way) as long as you don't do something to damage it. Torque for the 10mm pan bolts is 120 INCH pounds when re-installing the pan.

Expect to see a lot of gray goop (a film on the bottom) in the pan, and the magnet will likely have some small metal flakes with even more gunk on it.

I do a pan-drop once a year, so I got the pan with the drain plug to save on the mess when draining the fluid, Ford part# F8UZ-7A194-AA.

Thanks guys
The reason I wanted t know about the gasket, is I can buy the filter without the gasket.
I would like to run a synthetic fluid, and although I have my motor oil preference, I am not sure which trans fluid is best. Not interested in royal purple etc, just a good name brand fluid.
