I have the floor/console shifter in my 06 lariat. My question is the coating, reflective mirror stuff on the top of it is getting sharp around the edges..down toward the gray part. My question is is their something i can do about this or look for a replacement cap or whatever?

 

Are you talking about the shifter benzel or the shifter stalk top? Either way, this is a common problem. I've seen several consoles where the chrome is peeling off of the plastic. You can try and find a good used set, but most are selling the complete console.

Try a boneyard.

 

the top. its just peeling around the bottom though and makes it sort of sharp when you grip it. i just wondered if there was something you could do to fix it.
