Default Flasher Location

I've researched the location of the flasher module but I am still unsure which piece it is. I know technically what it would look like but I can't find anything like it where it is supposed to be located. The sound it makes simply echoes in the steering compartment behind the dash and can't really pinpoint where it is. I am upgrading my flasher to an aftermarket LED compatible unit. Here is a pic I took of the area under the steering column, looking upwards.

It is the blue piece in the picture, just turn your hazards on and you can hear it flash. Replace that with an EP27 Led flasher and you are good to go.

In removing the cluster, I too noticed the braces around the steering column of my 2005 had surface corrosion. Remove your lower steering column cover, and I'll bet you too have it.

And the flasher is actually above your picture. Remove the lower steering column piece, and operate the emergency flasher as a previous poster mentioned. You'll easily hear it, and find it.

Using an LED flasher will allow both LED and conventional bulbs to flash normally. The stock one lashes rapidly whenever an LED bulb is installed as a front/back turn signal bulb replacement.

I did find the location of the flasher and it is the blue piece! I replaced it with a TMI LED unit and it works perfectly well. Here are the pics.

This is what the stock flasher looks like.

Here is the new TMI unit installed. Anyone who uses this will need to find a way to secure it as it does not fit the factory position. I use industrial Velcro.
