Default First time on drag strip!

So went out to PBIR today with a few buddies to have a few friendly drag races and my ford was definitely not the fastest of the bunch! My best time was a 16.3 (only run I didn't spin my tires) my buddy has a 2007 dodge 1500 sport with the 5.7 and he whooped my 5.4 every time (his best was a 15.4) So now I'm officially addicted and it's time for more performance mods! I've already done custom tunes, gotts mod, and exhaust. Btw the dodge had a canned tuned superchip and k&n intake with stock exhaust. I know our trucks are the longest lasting but I wish they were a little quicker! Anyone else run the drag strip? Were my times usual?

Haha it is also a work truck so that wouldn't be the best idea but one day I hope to! My friend has a 03 duramax running 12 seconds with nothing but intake, exhaust, and canned programmer! So not fair that it takes nearly 10 grand for ours to keep up.

Everything comes into play when racing. As you go faster air gets thicker and harder to move through, power to weight ration, tires, how well you launch, everything. It's not as simple as floor it and go. that being said our truck are more of a wnd sail than anything. Not to mention "hemi" a bigger motor pushing more hoarse and torque. I'm also going to assume it had a six speed. And as for the Dura max you can't compare a turbo diesel to a naturally aspirated gas motor... Diesel burns different and because of EPA laws they come from factory super conservative but once you tune them you can see huge gains in diesels. My cousins cummins with a 6 in lift and 35 bfg muds will smoke most things on the road.

Just my opinion and what I can think off off the top of my head real quick.
