Default First breakdown in 162k miles

Well it finally happened, my faithful 2005 f150 has finally left me waiting on a tow home. Turning on the highway going to work my truck suddenly died. No check engine light, no warning at all. Quick trouble code check on my gryphon edge cs directed me under the bed and above the spare tire. Fuel pump driver module offline. Removed it from the crossmember and the bottom side came off like dust. Inside was full of dirt and road salt from the lovely Indiana winters. Hopefully the dealership has one because my search at local parts stores left me with bad news. None in stock and on backorder. So for now she's out of commission in the garage.

If all else fails, try tasca. There like 130$ shipped and it comes with the new mounting hardware.

I just sold one on the classifieds here for $35.00! Came off of a truck with only 5K.

Next time your in the bone yard, pick up a spare, and get a nice starter and alternator too. Better to buy a low mileage used then the cheap rebuilt junk.

Yep mine went on me at 125k luckily it was in a buddies driveway and the local dealership had one. I put nuts in between the stock bolts to hold it off the frame so water can drain.

The one I got from the dealership has studs that go on first with a nut fixed to them and then the module goes over the studs and bolts down. I put 2 thin coats of rust proof paint on the crossmember and the bottom side of the module just in case though.

Luckily mine quit while it was in the driveway. NO stores seem to stock the aftermarket modules.
