Default Finding the Right size U-Joint

Hey guys,

I’m having a hard time determining exactly which U-Joint fits my truck. I’ve checked several websites to determine the correct size but they all list so many different options that I’m not sure which is correct. Hoping someone here can help me out.

My truck is 2006 XLT 4x4, has the 4.6L and has a single piece drive shaft, 6-1/2 foot box. U-Joints appear to be serviceable (NOT staked). I'm thinking I'll get Moog U-Joints if available.

Thanks in advance!

-Josh

331 should be the standard U joint. Moog just puts their name on someone else's part. Precision or Spicer would be my recommendation for brand. Just make sure whatever you get is greasable.

I just did the research into it and Moog puts their name on Precision ujoints so if you get Moog, you’ll get a Precision part.

Funny you said that, I was looking at Rock Auto yesterday and they don't even try to hide that fact. "Moog/Precision" is what is listed on their website. Now the question is, can I skip the name brand and get it for cheaper by just buying Precision?

Thanks!

You could just buy Precision and get the same part for lower price. I used to sell Precision U joints for years until Napa switch over to SKF which also appear to be decent. Im just a fan of Precision.

Moog only does this with select items... They still make good chassis and suspension parts, but certain other parts they rebox from other manufacturers. This is common with many companies as they all market themselves as “global” companies now.
