From what I understand, if you have keyless entry then it should be pre-wired.
You may have the code card in the glovebox with the owners manual.
I copied the link where I first posted the keypad question. Good info in it.

When I purchased my truck I did not think I would ever use the keypad. Now I use it almost daily.

Not familiar with the Viper system, Do you use your Ford Key Fob to disarm the alarm?

my truck has this option and i use it often. like said above if your outside and need something from insdie you dont have to go find your key to open it up. I also live in Florida and its hot as hell and when i stop somewhere ill leave the truck and a/c running and lock the doors. that way i come back to a nice temperature not 115!

o and yeah i concur on the working at night thing. Ive got an 18 month old that has to be watched like a hawk or she will get into something so my projects always end up being an after 8pm thing too.

To answer this question?

"no unfortunately its a seperate key pad"

I would try setting the alarm and using one of your old Ford Key fobs if you still have one, to unlock the doors see if the alarm goes off. Or just set the alarm when you're in the truck and try unlocking the doors from the inside.

I thought it was silly too but I'm surprised how much I use it - whenever I go to the beach, or the bar, etc, I lock my keys in and head out. It's also good for my g/f, she can get something out of my truck w/out me giving her keys
